Olamide finally reacts to NBC: Over the past few days, there had been news making rounds about the ban on some songs from Nigerian air waves. Amongst the songs banned was Olamide’s new single ‘Wo’ which caught the attention of federal government and ministry of health. The ministry disclosed that ‘Wo’ which Olamide mentioned cigarettes in contravenes Nigeria’s laws on tobacco advertising, promotion & sponsorship.
According to them, the video promotes a dangerous habit that encourages second-hand smoking. The risks from this include cancers, respiratory & cardiovascular diseases. The singer and song writer has come out to debunk the assumption that he was promoting tobacco. He tweeted few hours ago saying:
”No intentions of promoting tobacco to get people killed, I love my people, I love my country, one love , one Nigeria #ClearTheAir Oya Wo !”
This makes him the first to make a comment about the banned songs from the 3 artist whose songs were banned.
