The first copy of Shatta Wale “The Reign Album” sold Apparently, Shatta Wale at the launch started selling his first Album copy at a starting price of GHC 100,000.
Then surprisingly a couple came on stage, that they’ll buy it for GHC150,000. They added that Shatta Wale deserves more than what he asked for the first copy.
“…I know the CD dey go for ¢100,000 right but Shatta Wale dey deserve more than ¢100,000 so me and my wife we wan give am ¢150,000,” he said amidst loud cheers from fans at the venue.
“Wale…Wale…Wale…,” Mr Sledge chanted.
Shatta Wale was himself shocked. He questioned the popular notion people has for him that, “sensible” people do not support his kind of music.

His full name is Sledge Nana Yaw Duodu, a businessman with interests in gold trading and real estate.
Sledge is known to be the president and chief executive officer of Goldridge Ghana Ltd, a gold dealership company which is working with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to develop innovative solutions for Small Scale Miners.
A holder of a degree in marketing from the UK, Sledge is also the chief executive officer of Silver City Real Estate, which is building an estate in the Community 18 area in Tema.
Apart from his own businesses, he sits on boards of several companies, Sakthi Trading Group and Shanti Corporate Holdings Ltd, which are international gold dealing companies.
In 2017, Sledge started a partnership with the Tema Metropolitan Assembly to solve the perennial flooding in the city.
With such a profile, there is no doubt that he has the wherewithal to make such an offer.
