Hanna Tetteh who happened to be Ghana’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs under the John Mahama administration has been sworn in as Director General of United Nations’ Office in Nairoabi, Kenya.
This took place on November 2nd, 2018 as she was sworn into office by United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres.
Mr. Guteres announced the appointment of Madam Tetteh as Head of the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) in July this year.
She succeeds Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde from Ethiopia, who has been appointed as Special Representative to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU).
Taking to Twitter, elated Hanna Tetteh expressed her gratitude and how honored she’s to assume her new position.
She indicated that she was honoured to be formally inducted into the high office.
